From August 31
to September 3, 2025, the 22nd UITIC International Technical Footwear Congress,
the highest-level gathering in the technical field of the global footwear
industry, was held in Shanghai. This marks the second time the UITIC Congress
has taken place in China. The event brought together over 300 representatives
from renowned footwear companies, research institutions, industry
organizations, and media from 14 countries and regions, including the Chinese mainland, Italy, Portugal, France, Spain, Germany, the United Kingdom, Canada,
Mexico, South Africa, India, and Hong Kong, China.
Under the theme
"Competitiveness and Sustainability in the Era of Artificial Intelligence,"
more than 50 experts and technicians from across the global industrial chain
shared their latest research findings and forward-looking insights through
keynote speeches, oral presentations, roundtable discussions, and poster showcases.
During the
congress, the UITIC Award ceremony was held. Professor Gong Taisheng of Shaanxi
University of Science & Technology was awarded the "UITIC Science
Award," Miquel Fluxá, CEO of Spain’s Camper, received the "UITIC
Management Award," and Chen Guoxue, National-Level Master Artisan of
China’s Light Industry and Chairman of Shanghai Guoxue Shoe Last Co., Ltd.,
along with Andrea Favazzi, director of Technological and Innovation Office for
the Italian Footwear, Leathergoods and Tanning Machinery Manufacturers (ASSOMAC),
were honored with the "UITIC Technology Award."
