The 2025
International Tanning Industry Development Summit, hosted by China Leather
Industry Association (CLIA), was held in Shanghai on September 3, 2025. The summit
attracted over 100 participants from related international
organizations, associations, universities and research institutes, renowned
domestic and international brands, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, and medias.
The theme of this forum is "Revitalizing the
Tanning Industry: How Collaboration Sparks Innovation and Drives Mutual Growth".
Five professionals were invited as the speakers: Huang Yanjie, Deputy
Secretary-General of CLIA; Jane Li, Vice President of the Leather and Hide
Council of America (LHCA); Letícia Luft, Brazil Leather Project Manager at the
Centre for the Brazilian Tanning Industry (CICB); Fernando Bellese, Senior Manager,
Beef and Leather Supply Chains, WWF-US; and Kamran Habib, Former Chairman of
the Pakistan Tanners Association (PTA) and Member of the 2024-2026 Central
Executive Committee. They analyzed the development and sustainability of the
leather industry in China, USA, Brazil, and Pakistan, exchanging insights and
learning from each other to collectively promote the high-quality development of the global leather
industry.
