The representative body of the leather industry in the European Union (EU), COTANCE, has said that the idea of leather as a champion of sustainability came across clearly at a recent event in Brussels promoting dialogue on sustainable food.
At the event, the specific focus was ongoing discussion on this subject between the EU and Brazil.
After the discussion, the secretary general of COTANCE, Gustavo González-Quijano, said: “We were proud to see a clear understanding of leather’s role in sustainable development. As we journey towards a greener future, let us remember that leather is not merely a part of the conversation on sustainability, it is the cornerstone of the solution.”
