The opening ceremony of the 11th China Huidong Shoe Culture Festival was held at National Foreign Trade Transformation and Upgrading Footwear Base in Huidong County, Huizhou. The officials from government department, representatives and guests from enterprise paid a visit the exhibition, a displaying hall was set up on the festival for reviewing the 40-year development history of Huidong footwear, during the exhibition a series of trade activities were held, such as the launching of "Huidong Women's Shoes" online platform, footwear culture activities and newproduct release meetingand so on.

The organizer said: “this year’s festival, with the theme of carrying out shoe’s culture and creating fashion in the future, will last nine days, and focus on achievements of shoe brands, promotion of shoes brands and its culture, and supporting enterprises sell their products as home and abroad.” Huidong Shoe Culture Festival has been successfully held for ten years, which is become an exchange platform to promote the development of the shoe industry and an important window to know Huidong.

In recent years, Huidong government has formulated the Huidong Shoemaking Industry Development Plan (2020-2025) to support the sector development, meanwhile Huidong has established National Foreign Trade center of Footwear", "National Shoe Test Center" and "Fashion Creative College". Currently Huidong has more than 5,600 Shoemaking companies, which employs 160,000 people and produces 900 million pairs of shoes annually, with an output value of 34.5 billion yuan.
