Industry representative body the European Outdoor Group (EOG) has elected David Ekelund, co-founder of Swedish footwear brand Icebug, as its new president.
Mr Ekelund replaces Matt Gowar, owner of Equip, theparent company of the Rab and Low Alpine brands, in the role.
EOG director, Christian Schneidermeier, said the last year had been a time of change and challenges for the industry, but that the organisation remained in good shape, with its membership growing for the third year in succession.
